I am Mustang, the very last one

I am Mustang, The very last one

The pain is great but then silence
Now, I feel like I am back home
I hear the thundering of a thousand beating hearts
so many, and now me, all sent into the dark
None stampeding as always, as just one

The last mustang from roberta edstrom poems

Dear God, our time as come
I believe, I was the very last one.
The finale mustang to take the last breath
I ask, God, what have they done

Man will not know what he has done
until his own last hours have finally come
Take pity and remember this was man
and he did the same to my very own son

  1. so sad but I’m afraid very true…….

  2. That is so true and it is a shame that people choose not to see what they do out of their own greed and selfishness. We just euthanized two horses a weekend ago that we had saved from a auction and would of went to slaughter, but they both had major lameness problems and we felt like we had given them several good years of being loved and cared for but didnt think they would make it through this coming winter. It was devastating and made me angry knowing that their previous owners had used them and discarded them like trash at the auction and should of cared for them in the first place and maybe they would not of ended up like that. If every human had to be present at the life that they are taking and watch them fall and take their last breath then maybe the slaughter of our Mustangs and domestic horses will end.
